Lisanne Tremblay

Described as an “imaginative and agile Québécoise violinist” by JazzTimes, New Yorkbased Lisanne Tremblay has shared the stage with outstanding artists such as Greg Osby, Liberty Ellman, Stephan Crump, John Hébert, Gerald Cleaver, E.J. Strickland, Devin Gray, Rick Rosato, John Korsrud, Bill Mahar, Chet Doxas, Jordan Peters, Rémi-Jean LeBlanc, and Philippe Melanson.

Tremblay's distinctive approach captured the attention of many through her debut album “Violinization” which was released in 2015 on Greg Osby’s Inner Circle Music label.

“A gifted improviser with a highly unconventional yet utterly arresting melodic gift, Lisanne puts the full expressive powers of the violin on display and makes a compelling case for the instrument's broader inclusion in modern jazz.”
Seton Hawkins, Hot House Jazz Magazine

“This violinist has an original language, a strong technique, and a very interesting sound.”
Didier Lockwood

“Tremblay can take the heat. She has technique in abundance. Her tone is impressively pure, she displays superb articulation and she’s not afraid to use the full range of her instrument.”
James Hale, DownBeat Magazine

Her words on the STAT-V-ROAD

“I have been playing with the STAT-V for years and am convinced this remains the best pick up that has ever been made for the violin. Mixing its powerful tone with the subtlety of a microphone through the YELLOW BLENDER has been a revelation to me. The mixer is an invaluable tool that gives me full control over the intricate frequencies of my instrument. I feel very grateful to Schertler for enhancing my sonic experience on stage, and removing the obstacles to true expression.”
